It looks as though it is supposed to screw onto the pusher spindle - so the tool can act as a micrometer - but it doesn't look like the head of the pusher spindle is supposed to come off.and I'm not going to force anything until I know for sure. My question though is about the micrometer bushing nut that comes with the kit. Also included as a nice surprise, was a Seitz micrometer needle and stake. Included with the deal, was one small red box of reamers and flat pushers - almost an entire replacement set of both. The kit did however, include a bunch of extras - more than offsetting the missing parts. It's missing one pump pusher and a few anvils - replacements already found and on the way. OK, I'm currently working on perfecting some homemade spring dogs for my first try at making a balance staff, but I thought I would post a question about my new/old, Seitz jewel press.I think I got a great deal on it.
